Vega terms are great. Especially getting them at a great price. I’ve bought several items from Kairon Guitar Store and been happy with my experience.
While the VegaTrem was not quite as easy to install as VT's website said, it still wasn't too bad. I'm sure if I had a real Strat I wouldn't have had to bust out the old router, but I'm comfortable enough with it, and the guitar in question is an early-aughts Encore, so nbd if I f it up.
Out of the box, the saddles came pre-set so much in the neighborhood of correct intonation that I was even a little disappointed at how little adjustment I had to make. The action height was a breeze to set, so after I got that all sorted out, I was ready to get shredding (the word being used loosely, here).
Taken together with the graphite nut and the Planet Waves locking tuners I put on the guitar years ago, the VegaTrem plays like a dream. Dives, flicks, and of course regular old vibrato all sound great, and the bridge returns to its original position without issue. And while the action adjusting set screws do sit right about where the side of my hand does when I'm palm muting, I have yet to get snagged. This thing is easier and more comfortable to play with than a Floyd Rose by far—and I've been a Floyd player for nearly twenty years.
My only real gripe is that, if your bridge rout doesn't have anything for the back of the bridge to sit on when the strings are off, you'll have to put the blade edges back in their grooves at every string change. Still, it's a small price to pay for this kind of playability. At the end of the day, I can't recommend this bridge enough. It's the best feeling trem bridge I've played on, and I would rather not go back to Floyd Roses, if I can help it.
